But I do wish they would seed faction ships because they are just as likely to have bugs and bonus application problems than anything else in the game.
And on the subject, please seed the RMR introduced ships devs.
So if they seed faction ships, are you going to spend days or even weeks waiting for the skill training to complete so you can actually fly them?
It's the same with the new ships that are introduced, more skills means time to train which isn't always possible given that Sisi is occasionally backed up from Tranq and would scrub all your training time in a single day. Also those bonuses are given on skills so you are going to train even further to enable you to see those bonuses having an effect? Since testing and patcvhday are often so close as we saw with the blood patch, it won't be possible to train fast enough to actually make any difference.
Since it's not just ships that they introduce, it's new mods, don't you think that those of us who want to test setups won't wonder if the new mods would be better and train for them to test them out on our setup? The new mods get tested just the same but on ships that are already available instead of the uber new ships that are being introduced that everyone wants to jump into.
Finally, what happens to existing mods? Do they not still need testing since a bug is pretty fickle and doesn't always show up right away. If I use a way out setup for my ship because that setup serves a particular purpose for me, one of the existing mods may object to having x number of another mod alongside it and create a bug that nobody has seen before simply because they have never tried to use a setup like that before. Using one or two of that mod has never made any difference but I suddenly put 3 beside it and a bug rears it's ugly head. If that bug suddenly gave me uber one-shot-kill guns or invulnerable shields, do you really want a bunch of noobs in low end frigs roaming around 0.0 blasting everything with impunity cos someone else found the bug too and had all their buddy's ships fitted that way?
Unlike some others, I'd report it because it would mean the end of eve as we know it by allowing it to remain unchecked. People would destroy your POS and gank your entire fleet just cos they can. Eventually, everyone would have that setup and PVP would be the first thing to die and next would be all semblance of law in empire, making it totally impossible for noobs to join the game.
Hey, there's a noob ship... Bang... He's coming out the station again... Bang... And again... Bang. (Noob logs off and doesn't return).
This reminds me of early eve. Pirates camping mara killing newbies in the hundreds, to the extent that the devs one day had to go there themselfs in battleships to chase them off (battleships were very rare those days). It was possible because there was no sentries, if i remember correctly. Also, it was possible to create massive lag using jetcans (no timer existed, so many could be produced fast). Just one of the bugs that probably turned alot of people away from the game.
Another one was ganking at jumpin-spot. Nothing you could do really.. your ship would get destroyed while the system was loading on your client. People lost many ships this way. Also made people turn away from the game. Working hard for a battleship and then losing it to this was just too much.
Not sure what i wanted to say with this.... but it felt good to think about "the old days". =)
Edit: And oh, 10x damage modifiers on cruiser railguns. Got almost insta-popped in my thorax by another cruiser....
